Nice to e-meet you!

I’m Isaiah, the one you turn to when in need of a creative spark.

My mom, an Executive Operations Controller, asks me every year to write her a witty speech for her company’s end-of-year party. Naturally, I say, “Yes,” followed by, “For how much?”

After negotiating, I map out how I, as a 25-year-old Zoomer, can connect with an audience of Gen X’ers and Baby Boomers. I throw on some episodes of “In Living Color” and listen to TLC’s “CrazySexyCool” for the perfect inspiration.

She, of course, kills it at the podium, but then I ask:

“How many people applauded?”

“Which line got the most laughs?”

Because what is a success without supporting data?

Once the job is complete, I clear my mind at the gym, go crate-digging for my next vinyl, bug my cousins to hop on their Nintendo Switches and play Mario Party, and plan the next concert or music festival I need to go to.
